2012 Commissioner College Results
We saw a tremendous increase in attendance of 25%, 260 up from 208 in 2011, probably due in part to our keynote speaker, Tico Perez, National Council Commissioner.
As Tech dean I want to especially thank Alan and Donna Wofson and Dewey Philips for technical support at the college, our webmaster Pat Terman who made the whole signup and degree production process so simple, Pac Sky for accounting support, and my partner on the Academic side, Bill Nay. Adminsitrative leadership from Redwood empire and Mount Diablo Silverado Council was fantastic especially with the key leaders Bruce Mayfield and Bill Phelon. Joe Darr, Mt Diablo Silverado Council field director provided alot of support and brought out a number of professional staff the day of the college to make logistics run smoothly.
Bill and I are stepping down and will be succeeded by Phil Mulvihill and Alan Wolfson respectively. It has been a rewarding experience and I am proud to have been part of the tradition that is the Nor Cal Commissioner College. We can all be proud that much of our college format has been adopted in the national course now being taught at Philmont.

2011 Commissioner College Results
Our 2011 College was a wonderful success thanks to the work of our Council Commissioners, Assistant
Deans, numerous staff and Faculty (instructors). We had the benefit of a wonderful facility, Mission
Valley College. Our host Councils, Alameda, Piedmont, and Santa Clara County did a great job of putting
all of the pieces together. Our College also has the added benefit of providing a forum for 9 Northern
California Councils to work together on a common goal, supporting you the Commissioners.
This year was the first one for both of us to take over the Academic and Technical Dean functions. The
fantastic support from college staff and instructors made this far easier. Our webmaster and
past Registrar Pat Terman gave us the critical support we needed to carry on the College. Accounting
support from PacSky council was critical to our success as well. We also continued our tradition of
having top speakers including Jan Perkins from Area 3 and Matt Meyers, as well as a wonderful welcome
by Dr. Laura Jones of Mission Valley College.
Finally, we want to acknowledge you the participants of our college. The camaraderie, sharing, and
participation makes this event so much more than just another training opportunity. We come away
with our love of Scouting and sense of purpose as commissioners reinvigorated because of you.

Thank you one and all for another outstanding NorCal Commissioner’s College. Things get better every year. Thanks to your efforts, we are one of the finest Commissioner’s Colleges in the country. It is hard to believe that we are ten years old.
This will be my last report of College results as the Dean. It has been a great pleasure for me during my ten years as Dean to see this college grow from a handful of courses with a handful of students to its current state. I want to thank all of those people who helped along the way to grow this to one of the finest Commissioner’s Colleges in the country and I want to especially thank those hearty few who have been along for the whole ride. I could not have hoped for better assistants and hope that I was worthy of the trust you placed in me.
Because of you, close to 1000 Commissioners have received basic and advanced training in the art of being a Commissioner. Thanks to your efforts, thousands of youth have had a better Scouting experience. They do not know to thank you, so I will, on their behalf and mine.
