All Northern California College of Commissioner Science degrees require that you be registered as a Commissioner and that your application meet the approval of your Council (Associate) Dean or Council Commissioner.

Degree Requirements
Associate of Commissioner Science (ACS)
Prerequisites
- Currently registered as a Commissioner
- Complete Commissioner Orientation
- Current BSA Youth Protection Training
- Complete Commissioner Basic Training
Requirements
- Complete two courses from the BCS group
- Pledge of two unit visits in the next month
- Approval of Council (Associate) Dean or Council Commissioner
Bachelor of Commissioner Science (BCS)
Prerequisites
- Currently registered as a Commissioner
- Complete Commissioner Orientation
- Current BSA Youth Protection Training
- Complete Commissioner Basic Training
Requirements
- Complete 5 additional courses (for a total of 7) from the BCS group
- Commissioner’s Arrowhead may be substituted for one course
- Earning the “Trained” strip may be substituted for one course
- Approval of Council (Associate) Dean or Council Commissioner
Master of Commissioner Science (MCS)
Prerequisites
- Completion of Bachelor’s (BCS) degree
- Earned Arrowhead Honor
- Currently registered as a Commissioner
- Current BSA Youth Protection Training
Requirements
- Complete 7 additional courses from MCS group (for a total of 14)
- Commissioner’s Key may be substituted for one course
- Approval of Council (Associate) Dean or Council Commissioner
Master of Special Needs (MSN)
Prerequisites
- Completion of Bachelor’s (BCS) degree
- Earned Arrowhead Honor
- Currently registered as a Commissioner
- Current BSA Youth Protection Training
Requirements
- Completed Bachelor’s (BCS) Degree
- Complete 7 additional courses, a minimum of 5 from MSN Group and 2 from MCS Group (for a total of 14)
- Commissioner’s Key may be substituted for one course
- Approval of Council (Associate) Dean or Council Commissioner
Doctor of Commissioner Science (DCS)
Prerequisites
- Completion of Master’s (MCS) degree
- Earn the Commissioner’s Key
- Currently registered as a Commissioner
- Current BSA Youth Protection Training
Requirements
- Complete 10 additional courses (for a total 24), 5 from DCS or CE Program Level
- Courses taught at Commissioner College may be substituted for one course
- Each year spent on college staff (other than teaching) may be substituted for one course
- Serve on the Commissioner’s College staff for at least one year
- Complete an Approved Research Project or Thesis
- Approval of Council (Associate) Dean or Council Commissioner
