Commissioner CST 3
God has blessed Sang Lee with multiple opportunities, and Sang has taken those blessings and built an outstanding life of service and leadership for himself and his family. Now a CEO of a professional engineering company that he’s been with for over 30 years, husband to his wonderful wife for 27 years, father of four children (William, Eagle Scout; Grace, previous Venture Crew 911 President; Samuel, Eagle Scout; and Gloria). In Sang’s eyes, Scouting has enhanced the many blessings in his life, and it is his passion to make a difference in the lives of youth and continue “passing it on” in and out of Scouting.
Sang began Scouting when his adult son joined Cub Scouts as a young boy, and he is privileged to share an OA Vigil Honor with his son. He’s held various positions on the Council level including Council VP of Program and Council Commissioner while working at the District and Unit levels. Sang is Wood Badge trained and has served on Wood Badge as staff, been an Adult Leader for the National Jamboree as well as NOAC. His service in Scouting has earned him the District Scoutmaster award, District Award of Merit, Silver Beaver, Distinguished Commissioner, Doctorate of Commissioner Science, and Whitney M. Young Jr. service Award. Recently, Sang has also served as the Western Region Executive Board Member, Western Region Diversity Conference Committee chair, National Scoutreach Taskforce member, and BSA Churchill Org Structure Committee member. He is currently serving as the Council Vice President of DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion), adult leader for Troop 337, and National Service Territory #3 Commissioner Elect. He was a founding member of Troop 337, which was formed by the Outreach Program to offer Scouting to hard-to-reach lower-income and culturally diverse communities. Sang believes that his role in Scouting is to share his life experiences and resources in scouting to inspire youth to become “ALL THEY CAN BE”.
